From 3 February 2025, import containers from the Far East and Oceania will only be able to enter the Port of Rotterdam via the Vertrouwensketen Portbase. This marks the end of the use of fraud-prone PIN codes. CTV has participated in the initial pilots of the Secure chain, making a valuable contribution to this initiative.
All preparations have been made, and since going live, we are fully ready to work with the Secure chain. In addition, CTV is the first logistics service provider to have fully integrated the Secure chain in-house, ensuring complete automation of the process.
In the Secure chain, each participant digitally transfers the authorisation to collect a container (or have it collected) to a subsequent link in the chain. Only an inland operator authorised via the Secure chain is able to pre-notify their arrival at the terminal in order to securely collect the container there. In this way, the terminal always knows who to expect, which makes the process safer.
