Starting small, growing together
On 14 August 1996, the story of CTV Duisburg began in Neuss. Jac Berden established C.T.V. Container Trucking GmbH, which started out with a small team, a great deal of personal commitment and the aim of providing reliable container transport services. The company laid the foundations for the business it is today.
The move to Duisburg in 2002 marked the beginning of the company’s next chapter. The team grew, the site continued to develop and the range of services expanded. Alongside traditional road transport, barge and rail services became increasingly important.
In 2012, the company relocated to Container Terminal. The new location created better opportunities to further develop the business and strengthen its position in the container transport market.
Not every year followed the same path. There were periods of success, but also times when the company faced new challenges. It was during these times in particular that the strength of the team became clear. Together, we embraced change, overcame setbacks and made the most of new opportunities.
Over the past few years, CTV Duisburg has continued to evolve. The team has grown, internal processes have become more professional and the company has further expanded its intermodal transport activities. This development gained additional momentum, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, the company organises the transport of many thousands of containers every year, combining direct road transport, inland waterways and rail to create efficient, integrated logistics solutions.
Since December 2023, CTV Duisburg has been based on Mercatorinsel. The location reflects the company’s development and growth over the past three decades.
In 2025, C.T.V. Container Trucking GmbH became CTV Duisburg GmbH. The new name reflects the company’s development and the growing importance of intermodal transport.
Despite this growth, one thing has remained unchanged: the personal approach that defines CTV. Short lines of communication, trust and a strong sense of togetherness continue to shape how we work together and provide the foundation for our shared success.
30 years of CTV Duisburg. Much has changed, but the strong sense of unity within CTV remains. We look to the future with confidence and look forward to the next chapter in our history.
