VENLO – CTV is proud to announce the expansion of its fleet with two brand-new Volvo FM Electric trucks. This investment marks another milestone in our ongoing commitment to combining sustainability and technological innovation within intermodal container transport.

A new sustainable boost

As a specialist in intermodal transport – seamlessly combining truck, rail and inland waterway modalities – CTV has long worked to minimise CO₂ emissions per transport order. We strive to keep the distance over-the-road as short as possible. The new Volvo FM Electric trucks, fully branded in our corporate style, will be used specifically for zero-emission container transport during the so-called ‘last mile’. By integrating these electric trucks into our intermodal network, we strengthen our sustainable transport offering.

“The acquisition of these new e-trucks is not a final destination for us, but a new acceleration towards the future. We continue to invest in sustainable technology and innovative IT solutions that contribute to a cleaner, smarter, and more efficient logistics process.” (Michel de Bock, 2025)

Sustainability and IT as the foundation of our operations

Our sustainability strategy goes beyond deploying electric vehicles. Since the successful implementation of CO₂ tracking on 1 January 2024, we have been able to accurately calculate emissions per modality. This allows us to transparently demonstrate that intermodal transport generates significantly less CO₂ than traditional road transport.

We also continue to innovate in IT. Through real-time monitoring, proactive cost-control tools and data-driven decision-making, we maximise transparency and operational efficiency. These digital innovations enable us to respond flexibly to customer needs and market developments.

Intermodal container transport: reliable, efficient and future-proof

With over 25 years of experience in container transport, CTV understands better than anyone the importance of leveraging the strengths of each transport mode. By minimising the distance covered by road, we offer our clients an efficient, cost-effective and more sustainable solution. The new Volvo FM Electric trucks are particularly suited to container transport in and around logistics hotspots such as Venlo.

Driving innovation for a greener future

At CTV, we believe sustainability and innovation go hand in hand. The acquisition of these two Volvo FM Electric trucks is not just a material investment, but a conscious step towards a responsible, future-oriented logistics model. By integrating these E-trucks into our daily operations, we are taking yet another step towards a greener and smarter transport network.

CTV continues – as a pioneer in intermodal solutions – to build a sustainable and innovation-driven logistics future with dedication.
